The city of Natal itself is a bit on the boring side but the beautiful beaches nearby more than make up for it. Another attraction is the surrounding sand dunes, where energy-pumping buggy rides are possible.
North of Natal are two city beaches: Praia do Meio, which has a big reef and even bigger parties, and Praia dos Artistas, which is a good surf spot. South of Natal the coastline continues down 7km to Ponta Negra, Natal’s nicest beach. Natal Bus Routes:Natal to:-Praia da Pipa, R$8.50, 2 hours -Fortaleza, R$62-110, 8 hours You can also take a sand buggy from Natal to Fortaleza, or vice-versa. It is a 750km, 3-5 day trip. You will pass by around 92 beaches and through some of Brazil’s most stunning and undeveloped areas. Prices are around R$1500-2000 for up to 3 people, and include a driver, pousada accommodations, and breakfast. Just be mindful that although these rides do support local economies, they also have an environmental impact. |
